What is
covered.
Beauty and grooming at home covers two kinds of visit. A mobile beauty therapist does nails, lashes, brows, waxing and facials. A mobile barber does fades, scissor cuts, beard trims and shaves. Both bring their own tools, towels and products, so all you need is a bit of space, decent light and a plug socket.
People book at home for practical reasons more often than for luxury. A parent with a baby asleep upstairs. Someone recovering from an operation, or caring for a relative. A group getting ready for a wedding who would rather not split up across three salons. An office that wants a barber in for the morning so nobody loses half a day.
On AYS Concierge you search by service and postcode, and you only see pros who have chosen to cover your area. Single treatments and standard cuts usually have a fixed price shown before you book. Groups, bridal parties and mixed bookings work better as a free quote request, so the pro can plan the time properly.

Mobile beauty therapy
Choose a mobile beauty therapist for treatments you would normally have in a salon: gel nails, lash lifts and extensions, brow shaping and tints, waxing and facials. It suits regular upkeep at home and groups getting ready together. Tints and some lash products need a patch test first, so book with a little notice.

Mobile barbers
Choose a mobile barber for short styles, clipper work, fades, beard trims and hot towel shaves. It works well for children who find a busy shop stressful, for anyone who is housebound or in a care home, for groomsmen on a wedding morning, and for workplaces that want a regular barber day.
Barber or beauty therapist: which one to book
The split is mostly about the type of work, not who it is for. If you want a short cut, a fade or a tidy beard, book a barber. If you want nails, lashes, brows, waxing or a facial, book a beauty therapist. For longer cuts and colour, check the jobs listed on a barber's profile, as some do longer scissor work and some do not.
For a group, start with a list: who is having what, and the time everyone needs to be finished. Send it as a quote request so the pro can tell you how long it will take and whether they need to bring a colleague. Leave spare time before photos or a car arriving.
Before the visit, tell the pro about allergies, sensitive skin, recent sunburn or anything that makes a treatment unsuitable that day. Mention children's ages and whether anyone is nervous of clippers. Look at what each pro shows on their profile. We ask for qualifications and insurance, and pros who regularly work with children or in care homes can also show a DBS certificate.
Can I book a barber and a beauty therapist for one occasion?
Yes. They are separate bookings, so you book each one through its own service page. For a wedding morning or a party, tell each pro the start time of the other so they can plan around each other, and make sure there is room for both to set up without sharing one socket.
What space do mobile beauty and grooming pros need?
Less than most people expect. A barber needs an upright chair, room to walk round you and a socket. A therapist needs a table or space for a folding couch, good light and a socket nearby. Hard floors are easiest for haircuts. Both will tidy up loose hair, wax strips and packaging before they leave.
Do mobile pros visit care homes or people who cannot leave the house?
Many do, and it is one of the most common reasons people book a home visit. Say in your request if the person uses a wheelchair, needs to stay in bed or tires quickly, so the pro can allow extra time. If you are booking for a care home, check with the home first about visitor rules.
How does pricing work for treatments and haircuts at home?
Standard single treatments and cuts are usually shown at a fixed price before you book. The price depends on how long the job takes, any removal of old gel or extensions, add-ons like a beard trim or shave, how many people are at the same address and how far the pro travels. Groups are better quoted.
What if I have a skin reaction or feel unwell before the appointment?
Message the pro through your booking as soon as you can. Some treatments should not be done on irritated or broken skin, and a good therapist would rather move the date. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start time. Closer to the day, talk to the pro directly about what is possible.
