Mobile beauty therapy

What to expect
from your pro.

A mobile beauty therapist does the same treatments you would get in a salon, but in your home. They arrive with a folding couch or a nail station, their own towels, tools and products, and set up in whatever room has good light and a plug socket nearby. When they leave, the room goes back to how it was.

People book mobile beauty for all sorts of reasons. Some have small children and cannot get out for an hour. Some have limited mobility, or are caring for someone. Others just prefer a quiet appointment at home before a wedding, a holiday or a night out, or want a few friends done together.

On AYS Concierge you enter your postcode, choose the treatment, and see therapists who cover your area. Set treatments like a gel manicure or a brow shape usually have a fixed price you can see before booking. For a bridal party or a mix of treatments, you can describe what you need and ask local pros to quote.

Common jobs
we cover.

Not on the list? Describe it and ask for free quotes.

Gel manicure and pedicure

Nails shaped, cuticles tidied and gel polish cured under a portable lamp. Removal of old gel can be added.

Lash lift and tint

Your natural lashes curled upwards and darkened, lasting several weeks. A patch test is needed beforehand for the tint.

Lash extensions

Individual or volume lashes applied one by one while you lie flat. Infills every few weeks keep them full.

Brow shape and tint

Brows mapped to suit your face, then waxed, threaded or tweezed and tinted. Lamination can be added for fuller-looking brows.

Waxing

Legs, underarms, bikini line or face, using hot or strip wax. The therapist protects your floor and furniture while they work.

Facials

Cleanse, exfoliation, extractions where needed, mask and massage, chosen for your skin type. A relaxing hour without leaving the house.

Bridal and occasion groups

Nails, lashes or brows for the bride and party at one address, timed so everyone is ready on the day.

Treatments for limited mobility

Gentle hand and foot care or a simple manicure for someone who finds salons hard to reach, done at their pace.

Pricing

How the price
is worked out

Single treatments such as a gel manicure, lash lift or brow tint are usually shown at a fixed price, so you know the cost before you book. Group bookings, bridal packages and combined treatments are better as a quote request. What changes the price: how long the treatment takes, whether old gel or extensions need removing, the products used, how many people are being treated, and how far the therapist travels.

Before the visit

How to get
ready

  • Pick a room with good light, a table or flat surface, and a plug socket within reach.
  • Book the patch test early if you are having a lash or brow tint, as it is needed before the appointment.
  • Arrive with clean skin and nails: no make-up for lashes or a facial, and remove any old polish if you can.
  • Tell the therapist about allergies, skin conditions, pregnancy or medication that might affect a treatment.
  • Clear a parking space or let them know where to park, as they often carry a couch and a case.

Choosing the right pro

Every therapist is reviewed by the AYS team and passes a photo ID check before taking bookings. We ask therapists to upload their beauty qualifications and insurance, and the team checks what they send. Look at what each pro shows on their profile. A good therapist will ask about allergies and skin conditions before they start, and will insist on a patch test for tints.

FAQs

Mobile beauty therapy:
your questions.

Something else? Ask us and a person will reply.

What do I need to provide for a mobile beauty appointment?

Usually just a bit of space, decent light and a plug socket. Therapists bring their own couch or nail station, tools, towels and products. If you have a table you are happy for them to use for nails, that helps. For lash treatments you will be lying flat for a while, so a quiet room works best.

Do I need a patch test before a lash or brow tint?

Yes. Most therapists will want a patch test for tints and some lash adhesives, to check you do not react to the product. It is normally done a day or two before the main appointment. Some therapists do this as a short separate visit, others leave a small amount with you. Ask when you book.

Can I book several people at the same address?

Yes. This is common for hen parties, weddings and birthdays. The best way is to request a quote and list everyone and the treatments they want, so the therapist can work out how long it will take and whether they need to bring a colleague. Give them the time everyone needs to be ready by.

How long do lash extensions last?

Extensions shed naturally with your own lashes, so most people book an infill every two to four weeks to keep them looking full. How long they last depends on your lash cycle, how you sleep, and aftercare. Avoid oil-based products near the eyes and do not rub them, especially in the first day.

Is a home facial as good as a salon facial?

The treatment itself can be the same, because the therapist uses the same products and techniques. What changes is the setting. Some salon facials rely on large machines that do not travel, so check what is included. Many people find a facial at home more relaxing because there is no journey afterwards.

What happens if I need to cancel?

You can cancel for free up to 24 hours before the appointment start time through your AYS account. If you are unwell or have a skin reaction close to the day, message the therapist through the booking as soon as you can, as some treatments should not be done on irritated skin anyway.
