Checked pros.
Private details.
Letting someone into your home or near your car takes trust. This is what we do to earn it, without claims we cannot back up.
Every pro is reviewed by a person
Before a pro can take a single booking, a member of the AYS team reviews their application. Photo ID is required and checked. Pros who do not pass are not approved.
Pros can also upload public liability insurance, trade qualifications and DBS certificates. Our team reviews each one and records whether it was approved, and when it expires if it has an expiry date.
Regulated work needs the right registration
Some jobs are controlled by law. Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Notifiable electrical work in England and Wales must be done by an electrician in a competent person scheme or signed off by building control. Ask your pro for their registration and check it on the official register.
Your details stay private until you book
Pros never see your name, address or phone number while you are browsing or collecting quotes. They see them only when your booking is confirmed. Quote requests show the job and the postcode area, nothing more.
Payments go through AYS
You pay through AYS when you book, using a regulated payment provider. AYS never sees or stores your full card number. Pros are paid through the same provider, so there is no cash changing hands and no bank details to share with a stranger.
Your account is protected
Accounts need a verified email. Passwords are checked against lists of known leaked passwords, and you are told by email when your password changes. Staff accounts that can approve pros must use two-step sign-in.
Problems are handled by people
If a job goes wrong, tell us. We look at the booking history, talk to both sides and help reach a fair outcome. Pros who break our rules can be suspended, which signs them out and stops new bookings straight away.
Simple habits that
keep you safe
- Keep payment and messages inside AYS. Never pay a pro in cash or by bank transfer for an AYS job.
- For gas or notifiable electrical work, check the pro's registration on the official register.
- Agree any extra work through AYS before it starts, so the price is on record.
- Tell us straight away if something feels wrong.
Something not
right?
Tell us about a booking, a pro or a safety worry. A person will reply. If anyone is in danger, call 999 first.
