Phone repairs,
without the queue.
A cracked screen, a battery that dies by lunch, a port that will not charge. Find a local phone repairer and know the price before you book.
What to expect
from your pro.
Most phone problems can be fixed. Screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras and speakers are all parts a skilled repairer can replace, often for much less than a new phone. Mobile phone repairs can also save photos and messages you thought were lost.
On AYS you can book common repairs, like a screen or battery replacement for a popular model, at a fixed price shown before you pay. For water damage or unusual faults, describe the problem and local pros send a quote. Tell them the exact model, what happened, and what still works. Ask what parts will be used. Genuine parts come from the phone maker, while third-party parts can cost less but vary in quality. Some phones show a message in settings when a part is not genuine.
Some repairers come to your home or work and fix the phone there, which means it does not leave your sight. Others offer mail-in repair, where you post the phone and it is returned once fixed. Mail-in can suit harder repairs that need a workshop, but you will be without your phone for longer, so ask how it is packed, tracked and returned.

How the price
is worked out
Common repairs on popular models can be booked at a fixed price shown before you pay. Water damage and less common faults are usually quoted after the repairer knows more. What changes the price: the make and model, which part has failed, genuine or third-party parts, at-home or mail-in repair, and whether data recovery is needed. Quotes are free and you are not obliged to accept one.
How to get
ready
- Back up your photos, messages and contacts first, if the phone still turns on.
- Note the exact model, found in settings or on the box.
- Remove the case, screen protector and SIM card if asked.
- Have your passcode ready, or ask how the repair can be tested without it.
- Charge the phone if you can, so the repairer can test it.
Choosing the right pro
Every phone repairer on AYS passes a photo ID check and a review by our team before they can take bookings. Pros can also upload insurance and qualifications for us to check, shown on their profile. Ask what parts they use, whether the repair comes with a warranty, and how they look after the data on your phone.
Do I need to back up my phone before a repair?
Yes, if the phone still turns on. Most repairs do not touch your data, but things can go wrong, and some faults need the phone to be reset. Back up to iCloud, Google or a computer, and check your photos and messages are included. If the phone is dead, tell the repairer that saving your data matters most.
What is the difference between genuine and third-party parts?
Genuine parts are made or supplied by the phone maker. Third-party parts are made by other companies and are often cheaper, but quality varies, especially for screens and batteries. Some phones show a message in settings when a part is not genuine. Ask the repairer which they use, and get it written on the quote.
Will my phone still be water resistant after a repair?
It may not be. Water resistance depends on seals and adhesive inside the phone, and opening it can affect them even when they are replaced. A repairer can fit new seals, but do not rely on the phone surviving water in the way it did when new. Keep it away from water after any repair.
Is at-home or mail-in repair better?
At-home repair is done at your home or work while you wait, so the phone stays with you. Mail-in repair means posting the phone to a workshop, which can suit complex faults but takes longer. For mail-in, ask how to pack it, whether postage is tracked and insured, and when it will come back.
Can a phone with water damage be saved?
Often, if you act quickly. Turn it off, do not charge it, and do not put it in rice or heat it. A repairer can open it, clean away corrosion and dry the parts properly. Sometimes the phone works again, sometimes only the data can be saved. Tell them how long it was wet and in what.
What are my rights if the repair goes wrong?
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a trader must carry out a service with reasonable care and skill. If a repair is not done properly, raise it with the repairer first and give them the chance to put it right. If that does not work, contact our support team through your booking.
